Genesis 1:26 - 28

 “Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals,a and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”

     This is a promise of God. To be blessed, to be fruitful, to multiply, to fill the earth,  and to have dominion. Now this was interrupted by a bad choice. The fall of man and the sin that that introduced.

    But that has been made right. Not for all of mankind, but it has been made right for those who are in Christ.  So, if you are in Christ, there is no reason that this promise should not be fulfilled in you. So, what does it mean for you to be fruitful? This question is rhetorical. You need to get in your own mind what it would mean for you to be fruitful.

     Maybe it means to be creative; to let the gifts God has put inside of you flow out. Maybe it means to manifest the fruit of the Holy Spirit. To be love. To be joy or peace. To be kindness, or righteousness. To be self-control and Godliness. 

     Be Fruitful. Thats God’s blessing to you. Be filled with fruit and abundance. To be filled with overflow; enough to give to your children, grand-children and great grand-children. My great-grand father left me an inheritance. What an amazing thing.

     Be fruitful! Have enough to give to your nieces and nephews, your neighbors and co-workers. If your young enough and married, have a family. Have many to give of your overflow to. Money, stocks, bonds, furniture, and the true riches, spiritual insight, wisdom, guidance, and the Kingdom of God. All that goodness and godliness. Give that. Give it to your children. Multiply and fill the earth. Let your seed be in many waters (Is 32:20).

     Fill the earth and subdue it. Subdue the torment in your mind; subdue the the disquiet, the pain, the fear in your gut. Subdue anxiety, insecurity, dread. Thats God’s blessing to you. Subdue disease in your body. Every infection, skin disease, failure in any organ; every cancer. Subdue every that is short of the perfection that God created you to manifest. And subdue it in your children, grand-children and great grand-children, nieces and nephews, your neighbors and co-workers. Subdue every evil; everything that is disorderly and chaotic. Thats God’s blessing to you.

     Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and subdue it and have dominion.
